Audio notice (English)
Listen carefully, because I’m only going to walk you through this once, and then I expect you to act like an adult.
You’re building and consuming an 18+ universe. Not a toy, not a kid’s cartoon, not “vibes for the background while you scroll.” Axtlan is engineered as a harsh, unstable world: war, collapse, addiction, abuse of power, broken systems, broken minds, and the occasional moment of beauty that hurts precisely because of everything around it. That is the point. If someone is too young for that, too vulnerable for that, or simply not in a place to handle it, the correct response is simple: they don’t engage. They close the page, they step away, they take care of themselves. This is adult fiction for adult audiences.
Next: I want you to tattoo this into your skull – depiction is not endorsement.
If a story shows violence, that does not mean we approve of violence. If a character is cruel, unhinged, fanatical or monstrous, that does not mean the author is cheering for them. Axtlan is built to show extremes: systems that failed, people pushed past their limits, factions using every tool they can get their hands on, from chemistry to propaganda to raw brutality. The setting exposes that; it doesn’t glorify it. If someone chooses to treat fiction as an excuse for real-world harm, that is their decision, their responsibility, and their problem – both ethically and, potentially, legally.
Now let’s talk about ownership, because people get sloppy here and then act surprised when lawyers arrive.
The Axtlan universe – its specific factions, its particular mix of Krek, Krek pods, Krek crystals, Krek dust and Krek-derived substances, its stories, its terminology, its scripted lines, its carefully constructed lore – is original creative work. So are the scripts, the narration, the specific combinations of words, the art direction, the audio. Copyright law does not care how “inspired” you felt when you copied something; it cares whether what you put out is substantially derived from existing protected material. Those are protected expressions. They are not free building blocks for anyone who decides they “like the aesthetic.”
You want to be a fan? Good. We encourage that, within boundaries.
You can write non-commercial fan fiction, draw fan art, run tabletop or roleplay campaigns in private or clearly unofficial spaces, make commentary or reaction content, analyze the setting, review stories, build theory threads. You label it as unofficial. You don’t use our logos as if you were us. You don’t present your work as canon. You don’t charge money, crowdfund, or “monetize the brand” unless there is a written agreement on the table. Respect those lines and you’re part of a healthy ecosystem. Cross them, and you become a problem to be managed, not a supporter to be thanked.
And understand this: our tolerance for impersonation is exactly zero.
If you pretend to be Speclang or the Axtlan team, if you take our names, our setting, our materials and offer “services,” “partnerships” or “official” content without a contract, you are misrepresenting our work and misleading other people. That is the kind of behavior that gets documented, escalated, and, if needed, handed off to lawyers or authorities. We’ve seen enough scams and enough parasites to know how this game goes. We are not playing along.
Next topic: official vs. unofficial.
Only material released through our official channels is canon or binding. That means our websites, our verified accounts, our published videos, tracks, stories, and documents. Random reposts, AI regurgitations, “summaries,” fan wikis, chopped screenshots and second-hand gossip do not speak for us. They can be interesting. They can also be wrong, incomplete, or malicious. If you want to know what we actually said or meant, you go back to the source. If someone tries to weaponize out-of-context fragments or third-party noise against us, understand this: it has no legal weight. We stand behind what we officially publish, not behind every distorted echo the internet spits out.
Now about the darker content, because this is where people love to play dumb.
Axtlan includes chemical warfare, exotic energies, psych damage, cruelty, fanaticism, exploitation, and every flavor of bad decision you can reasonably expect from desperate people in a dying world. There are no global regulators, no functioning oversight, and no soft padding around the edges. Factions push as far as they can, because that’s what factions do when survival and power are on the line. That’s the fiction.
But even inside fiction, there are hard lines we do not cross.
We do not publish real-world manuals. We do not provide precise, actionable step-by-step instructions for weapons, explosives, chemical agents, or other means of serious harm. We do not give recipes, build guides, or lab protocols. If you see something described, you see it at the level of narrative and consequence – not at the level of a how-to document. That is the difference between a story and a crime guidebook, and we stay on the right side of that line on purpose.
The same principle applies to extreme psychological and sexual content. Yes, the setting can show the worst of human behavior: cruelty, exploitation, damaged minds, people with no empathy, and people drowning in too much of it. But there are subjects that demand special care – especially anything involving minors, sexual violence, or targeted hatred. When those elements appear at all, they exist as shadow and implication, not as fetish, celebration, or graphic spectacle. If a story forces you to confront something ugly, the point is to make you think, not to give anyone material for obsession.
Here’s what you need to remember: nothing in Axtlan is a moral invitation.
Not to cruelty, not to bigotry, not to self-harm, not to vigilantism. If someone decides that a fictional setting gives them license to go hurt real people, we are not “inspiring” them; they are looking for excuses. The law understands that difference. So do serious readers. So do serious courts.
Now, your side of the deal.
If you are engaging with this world as a reader, listener, viewer or player, you are responsible for knowing your own limits. If certain topics trigger you or destabilize you, you step back. You curate what you consume. If you are underage, this is not for you. If you choose to ignore the 18+ framing and then complain that the content is intense, the problem started when you chose to ignore the warning.
If you are engaging as a creator in the community, you respect the IP boundaries, you respect the age gates, you respect the difference between analysis and appropriation. You don’t drag our setting into campaigns of harassment, hate, or real-world targeting. You don’t present your reinterpretation as our official stance. You don’t attach our name to causes, ideologies, or conflicts we never endorsed.
And if you are looking at this from a legal or business angle, understand the structure:
– Our internal documents and signed contracts define how we work with clients and partners.
– Our public legal PDFs explain how we handle IP, data, and acceptable use.
– International treaties and local laws form the backbone beneath those documents.
When there is a conflict between casual wording, marketing blurbs, or social chatter and those core documents, the core documents win. Every time.
So here is the bottom line, in plain language.
We will continue to build Axtlan as a sharp, demanding adult universe. We will show the beauty and the horror. We will protect the IP. We will mark the boundaries. We will document bad actors. We will not apologize for writing hard stories about a hard world.
You, in turn, decide whether you are ready to walk into that world – and if you are, you accept responsibility for how you interpret it, how you talk about it, and what you choose to do outside of it.
The universe is ours.
Your choices are yours.
And if anyone pretends not to understand that distinction, the problem is not confusion. It’s convenience.
